Pfalzgas Expands its partnership With SEFE to Include Hydrogen

As part of an exclusive and flexible agreement, SEFE has been supplying Pfalzgas with approximately 1.2 TWh of natural gas per year since January 2025. Pfalzgas has now decided to extend this contract for an additional two years, through to 2027. As part of the contract extension, Pfalzgas and SEFE have also signed a memorandum of understanding to examine possible hydrogen deliveries via the German hydrogen core grid and thus support Pfalzgas in its transformation to new gases.

“Pfalzgas is one of the first customers to explore the potential of hydrogen deliveries together with SEFE. With the development of the German hydrogen core grid, we are contributing to Germany’s goal of becoming climate neutral by 2045. This agreement reflects the shared pioneering spirit of Pfalzgas and SEFE in turning the energy transition into reality,” said Hamead Ahrary, Chief Sales Officer at SEFE.

“With SEFE, we have found a trusted partner who not only supports us in ensuring a secure energy supply for our customers, but also provides us with decarbonisation solutions – helping us move towards our goal of operating a gas grid that supplies all connected customers with green gases as early as 2035,” added Werner Brommko, Head of Sales at Pfalzgas.
